Activities for schools

The Museum of the Legion of Honor and the Orders of Chivalry offers teachers and their pupils a special place to discover the history of France and the world in an original way, illustrating and deepening their classes in history, civic education and the history of the arts.

From September to June, the Museum’s educational service welcomes groups (30 participants maximum) from elementary school through high school, as well as from children’s activity centers, for free visits of the collections.

Each visit requires a pre-reservation application, which will be confirmed by our reservation services according to availability. The visits are only available in French.

  • Teachers who so wish may conduct a free independent visit of the Museum, from Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, after reserving.

  • The Museum, dedicated as it is to artistic and cultural education, offers free thematic visits (in French) that harmonize with French school programs in history, civic education and history of the arts. These thematic visits, conducted by a cultural guide of the Museum, for groups of at least 10, last between an hour and an hour and a half, and are available, by reservation, from Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

  • In partnership with other institutions, the Museum has developed cross-disciplinary programs. These programs align with school curriculum themes and are led in French by cultural mediators over the course of a half-day. They are available by reservation and may be subject to fees charged by partner organizations.

  • The Museum’s educational department is available to help teachers set up specific instructional projects.
