The Maison d’education of Saint-Denis‘s BTS in International Trade, a degree sought after by companies and recognized by the French state, has been offered for the past 30 years, with a 100% student success rate on the exam every year. At the end of the BTS, 100% of graduates go on to further studies.
The BTS in International Trade (two-year specialized higher education program), recognized in the European Framework of Reference and validated by continuous assessment and a national exam, depends on a skillful blend of general instruction, foreign languages and a professional, real-world approach, thanks to in-company internships and case studies included in courses.
Curriculum
The program has five objectives:
- Mastering international business techniques
- Developing a sound knowledge of foreign markets and economic and legal frameworks
- Securing proficiency in several languages
- Mastering information and communication technologies
- Preparing for further studies and an internationally-oriented career.
Academic
courses
General education courses include:
- General culture, written and oral expression
- Foreign languages (modern language A: English + modern language B: German, Spanish or Chinese)
- Economic, legal and managerial skills
Business courses
The professional instruction of the BTS is structured around three main blocks:
- Developing business relations in an intercultural environment
- Implementing international operations
- Participation in international business development
Internships and case studies
To complement their classroom learning with hands-on experience, students complete two internships with organizations involved in international business operations:
- A two- to three-month internship abroad at the end of the first year
- An internship of at least one month, in France or abroad, during the second year.
Throughout the two years, students also carry out assignments for companies. Working in small groups, they devise action plans to explore real-world problems through market research, international business intelligence, diagnostics, etc.
Instructional approach
Small class sizes that allow personalized support play a major role in student success.
The curriculum is organized in modules to encourage student mobility (switching to other studies) during the course and regular ongoing assessments of learning.
