Legion of Honor cohorts
There are four annual cohorts in the Legion of Honor, published in the Official Journal:
- two civilian cohorts: January 1st, July 14th
- two military cohorts:
- July for active duty military personnel
- November for military reservists and veterans
"Special cohorts" can also be published on the occasion of historical commemorations (Liberation of France for example) or special events like the Olympics.
There are individual decrees to honor military personnel wounded or killed in action.
